A set of tools for working with your documents and your datasets: correcting, editing, summarizing, and coding texts and open-ended questions, operationalizing objectives, diagnosing and merging datasets, building checklists, designing indicators, and making concept maps. You upload your file, work on it, and download the results. AI helps you work and you validate the decisions.
See a topic that appears scattered throughout the document together, and work on it in context. You read, edit, and download.
freeGathers all the passages of a topic, ordered by section, into a document you download. For studying or for fixing.
freeThe passages of a topic appear together, with their page and context. You fix them on that same screen and download the full document with the changes applied, with the original left untouched.
uses hilosGraph an idea and its relationships across your whole document. Download as PNG or SVG to illustrate your presentations.
freeYou upload your interviews to the workstation and code them, for your qualitative analysis. You download the file with all the passages of a code. With AI, the model proposes the codes and you validate the proposals.
freeValidate the work of the coders on your research team with Cohen's kappa, Fleiss' kappa, and Krippendorff's alpha.
freeCode the open-ended questions in your dataset. HILO shows you the quotes and proposes categories for you to validate. You download the column to paste into your dataset.
freeDiagnostics of your dataset's problems: broken rows, duplicate cases, missing values, and inconsistencies that sneak into the analysis. And an assistant to merge two whole datasets or by selecting variables.
freeReplace ID numbers, names and other personal data in your datasets with codes, in your browser. The same codes across files, plus a quick check of uncommon combinations before sharing.
freeThe different ways you named the same thing throughout the text, grouped and counted, so you can choose which one to keep.
freeThe terms your document defines, with their definition and the page where they appear. Useful as an appendix.
freeYou identify the representative passages from your research or document and extract the quotes. Ideal for illustrating your reports with empirical evidence.
uses hilosChecks whether your document meets a list of requirements: the thesis regulation, the audit objectives, or specific clauses. You find on which page each point is covered and which ones are missing.
uses hilosIdeal for strategic planning. You build the logical chain from objectives to results and their indicators. The document is analyzed, the components are organized, and the missing ones are suggested for you to validate.
uses hilosThe targets of a 2030 Agenda goal against your program document. Each target comes back with which part addresses it, or with the fact that it doesn't appear.
uses hilosYou paste the project's objectives and they are matched against the variables in your dataset. Ideal for building variables and indicators and for finding the scope of your data.

Each passage inside its full paragraph, editable, with the context in view.
Edit the passages together and download your document, the summary, or the concept map of the topic.
Helps with writing consistency and cuts down review and reading time. Speeds up the analysis of qualitative information. Helps with developing projects and building indicators. AI proposes and you validate: the work process is traceable and transparent. No black box.
Gathers every argument, citation, and claim on a single point so you can check that there are no contradictions across the case file.
Groups all the observations on an account or a finding so you can verify that the report is consistent, from the summary to the conclusions.
Gathers the mentions of a concept or author so you can unify terminology, definitions, and criteria across the whole work. Creates topic summaries to speed up reading.
Gathers every diagnosis, recommendation, and data point on a single key issue so the report reaches conclusions supported by the evidence you presented earlier.
Check your program document against the targets of a standard and see, target by target, what it addresses and what it doesn't. With the official indicator next to each one.
Follows a character, an idea, or a motif through the whole manuscript to check continuity, repetition, and tone chapter by chapter.

Reading, editing, and saving happen on your computer and in your cloud. For AI features we use Gemini: what is queried isn't stored on our servers.
You download a new document, with your original intact. The change history, for going back, is a Premium feature.
Start free. When you want more, subscribe or buy hilos on their own.
Payment is processed by Paddle. HILO doesn't see or store your card details.
Buy a pack of hilos, without subscribing, to keep using AI features.
Word documents (.docx) and PDF. PDFs are read, searched, and coded; the download with your changes is always .docx.
A hilo is the unit HILO uses to measure AI usage. Consumption depends on the length of the document and on the task; the app shows your updated balance after each use. Downloading a topic's summary doesn't spend hilos. Plan hilos renew every Monday and don't accumulate; the ones you buy don't expire and are used once the week's run out.
You keep working. Searching by keyword, coding, annotating, and downloading the document don't need AI and don't spend hilos. Only the AI features pause, until next Monday or until you buy a pack of hilos.
Yes. The document is read in your browser and saved to your own Drive or Microsoft 365. We don't store your texts on our servers. For AI features we use Gemini on its paid tier, where content isn't used to train models.
